About the Loan Calculator
The loan calculator shows what a loan really costs: the monthly payment, the total interest and the repayment schedule month by month. Use it for a mortgage, a car loan or a personal loan before you sign.
Compare the three common ways to repay. With equal payments (an annuity) every payment is the same; with equal principal you repay the same part of the loan each month plus interest, so the payments get smaller; with a bullet loan you pay only interest and the whole loan at the end.
Amounts are shown in your currency and rounded the way banks do, to whole won or yen and to cents elsewhere. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Enter the loan amount and choose the currency.
- Enter the yearly interest rate, for example 4.5 for 4.5%.
- Enter the term in years or months.
- Choose how you repay: equal payments, equal principal or all at the end.
- Read the payment, total interest and total repaid, and open the schedule or download it as a CSV file for a spreadsheet.

Examples
A 30-year mortgage
100,000,000 won at 5% for 30 years with equal payments is 536,822 won a month.
Equal principal
$250,000 at 6.5% for 15 years starts at $2,743.06 and falls every month.
Interest only
€50,000 at 3.2% for 24 months costs €133.33 a month and €50,133.33 in the last month.
Limitations and notes
- Interest is worked out monthly at one twelfth of the yearly rate. Some lenders count days or use another rate convention.
- Fees, insurance, grace periods, early repayment and changing rates are not included.
- Each amount is rounded to the currency’s smallest unit, and the last month settles what rounding left, so it can differ by a little.
- The term can be up to 600 months (50 years) and the amount up to 1,000,000,000,000.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between equal payments and equal principal?
Equal payments keep every payment the same. Equal principal repays the same part of the loan each month, so you pay more at first and less interest in total.
Why is the last payment slightly different?
Every payment is rounded to whole units or cents, and the last month pays exactly what is left so the balance ends at zero.
Can I see the whole schedule?
Yes. Open the repayment schedule to see every month, or download it as a CSV file.
Does it work for a 0% loan?
Yes. The amount is simply split over the months, with no interest.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The calculation happens in your browser and nothing is stored or uploaded.
